FOODS TO EAT TO REDUCE ANXIETY


Whole Grain Foods -Foods like bread and whole grain pasta and other true whole grain foods, since a number of whole grain diets have processed ingredients, are truly beneficial for anxiety sufferrers. Whole grain has tryptophan, wich helps in the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin. It also has magnesium in huge amounts. Deficiency in magnesium is probable to anxiety. Whole grain functions really well for anxiety;  it reduces hunger while simultaneously increasing healthy energy. It has great effects on anxiousness and has the nutrients which recent day diets lack.


Blueberries - there's more to blueberries than just being a delicious fruit. A number of people consider it a superfood. It has lots of plant nutrients and vitamins. Moreover, it contains various antioxidants that can be highly important stress reliever . A huge number of experts claim that peaches also belong to this category since they contain nutrients which functions as sedative or has calming effects.




Almonds - an underrated food, has zinc which is a main nutrient for the maintenance of balanced moods. It also has healthy fats and iron. Healthy fats contribute to a balanced diet and less amount of iron results to brain fatigue, which can cause lack of energy and anxiety.

Acai Berries are considered to be the newest superfood. It has recently been a great part of the press. People believed it can help to lose weight and like blueberries it contains lots of phytonutrients (plant nutrients) and has extremely high levels of antioxidant.



Seaweed -  like whole grains is rich in Magnesium. It also has lots of benefits. The seaweed kelp and the like has huge amounts of tryptophan. For those who are irresistive of gluten, seaweed is a great alternative.


Chocolate - especially the pure ones with no added milk or sugars is highly beneficial for persons who are in constant anxiety. Chocolate minimizes amounts of cortisol which is a stress hormonmptoms of anxiety. Some compounds contained in dark chocolate also helps to improve mood.


Maca Root - which is found in a number of health food stores, can be added to many beverages and foods. It is claimed that this root contains several amount of phytonutrients including iron and magnesium. It has more phytonutrients compared to a number of fruits and vegetables. Iron and magnesium are important elements for reducing anxiety. Maca root is also a source of energy and healthy stamina.


Asparagus  - contains the B vitamins folate that become folic acid inside the body. Anxiety, as well as depression are related to deficiency of folic acid. One of the famous sources of this is asparagus. Moreover, asparagus is rich in fiber and Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to reduce heart disease and blood pressure while fiber slows down production of blood sugar inside the body. High blood sugar can result to anxiety. Consequently, foods rich in fiber can greatly help in lowering blood pressure.

In order to keep calm from anxiety and lift moods, you must minimize consumption of processed foods and take more natural products instead. Moreover, what we drink has results in our stress levels.  Drinking alcohol have short term calming effects but it leaves the body dehydrated, worsening the anxiety. If you can't give up altogether, just try drinking in moderation 

A healthy diet is one of the most helpful ways to combat stress and anxiety. Water, is considered to be the best thing to be added on your diet. Studies show that dehydration affects about 25 percent or more of individuals with constant stress. Dehydration can result to more severe anxiety

"VAN GOGH IS A BIPOLAR" RESTAURANT : THE YUMMY REVIEW

Van Gogh is Bipolar

Allrightiee guyzz here's a fresh start. Lemme share you a great article from CANDY MAG. A survivor has a story on how he used his illness to create incredible food ideas. Van Gogh is Bipolar(VGIB), is owned by Jetro Rafael, a hardcore backpacker, a chef, a painter and a travel photographer. As a teenager, he was diagnosed as bipolar, and since then was in medication. Bipolar disorder or manic depression is a mood disorder where an individual experience episodes of depression alternating with episodes of mania or a very high mood. Well, in my case I understand his condition since I'm a social anxiety,general anxiety, panic and Avoidant Personality disorder sufferer.

So, back to Jetro, like me he feels he was born crazy but it was uncertain until he was clinically diagnosed. He's got lots of resentment and shame. He recalled how hard it is to be accepted while he was growing up and how much he hated the world, himself and his parents. Being fed up with meds, he explored some alternative remedies. He ceased taking pills and started making recipes of foods which could alter moods.

Due to his friends' insistence, he decided to share his recipes by putting up his own restaurant which he called "Van Gogh is Bipolar." He also refer to himself as Cuckoo Chef.

The dishes served are named after renowned celebrities who also have bipolar disorder. I'm listing some dishes below.

Courtney Love's Potion



This beverage has different content everyday. It may be a mixture of cabbage, strawberry, lemon and olive contained in a huge glass.

Larry Flint's Cabbage Experience



This salad is eaten by hand in burrito style by wrapping you desired ingredients(tomatoes, basil, dried fish, capers, cucumber, pickles, banana chips, eggs, mangoes )and secret black sauce within cabbage strips. Cabbage, according to Serotune.com has the essential amino acid tryptophan, which helps the brain in producing serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter or a brain chemical which regulates brain functions including memory, sleep, appetite and mood. Irregular serotonin amounts in the brain can result to mood disorders like borderline personality disorder(BPD) and depression. Mangoes, on the other hand, contains linalool, a compound which helps to minimize stress hormones. Moreover, as said in WomansDay.com just inhaling the scent of lemons and basil or other linalool-rich foods can help your body in dealing with negative stress.

Axl Rose's Egg Shot



This serving uses two glasses. A shot glass on top of the small dish contains a fruit puree and the wine glass below it has a soft boiled egg submerged in warm water. The drink is prepared by cracking the egg and pouring the yolk into the shot glass of puree. The concoction is added with a small amount of paprika and squeezed with a small quantity of lemon. It is downed in one shot. Jetro claimed that protein in eggs boosts the brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine. Dopamine, also a neurotransmitter, helps the regulation of brain's pleasure and reward centers.

Virginia Woolf's Tears



This turkey-based broth with carrot and cabbage toppings, is a bit salty but succulent and rich. Turkey is the white meat which contains the highest amino acid called tryptophan which helps elevate moods, regulate appetite and also help with compulsive behavior and anger.

Dining in Van Gogh is Bipolar is a one of a kind experience.  The diners helps Jetro to be aware on mental health. Jetro said that the food he serves are the best outlets to share the experience and gift he had in his restaurant. Jetro looks forward to creating more innovative recipes that guests will find distinctive and enjoyable.
